The Treasurer's Report was presented by Sue Zima. The 2015-16 budget is balanced although some items were eliminated (Brain Pop) and some reductions were made in areas where the money has not been spent. Wendy Fillgrove made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Tara DiLenge seconded.

Our Nash secretary, Dana Koch was in attendance at the meeting and shared with us the staff changes for the new school year. We will be welcoming our new principal Mr. Jonathan Winkle to start the new year. New classroom teachers to Nash will be Ms. Kerri Schlegel in first grade and Ms. Cassie Hagen in learning support. Mrs. Maria White will be our full-time librarian and we are also welcoming several new classroom aides as well.

We looked ahead at our 2015-16 fundraisers and are adding advertisements in our Nash directory (in print and on-line version) as well as an evening at Painting with a Twist in Skippack on November 8, 2015. We will continue with our ongoing retail rewards, March-a-thon, and a spring fundraiser and also with our monthly dine-out nights.

We discussed possible guest speakers for the new school year. We had a very good turn-out last year with the internet safety forum with Ray Wilson and may repeat that again this year. It was also suggested that we reach out to Brandon McManus, a North Penn and Temple alumni who now plays football for the Denver Broncos. He does a presentation on anti-bullying.

The volunteer clearances will be required for any volunteer working with children in the schools. The governor has made these clearances available free of charge for volunteers and North Penn will have a live database that will be updated daily.

We are still in need of a coordinator for the Indoor Recess committee and the Spiritwear committee. We also need a co-coordinator for the Holiday Shop and the Green Thumb committees and we need someone to serve as a shadow for the Book Fair and the Winter Carnival as these committee coordinators will be stepping down at the end of the year.

The Nash Sixth Grade committee reminded us that they will be selling Kid Stuff books from September 15-25 and they will be holding a car wash on Saturday, September 19 from 10:00-2:00. They will also be holding a committee meeting on Monday, August 24 at 6:00 in the Nash library.

During the Open Forum, Mrs. Koch shared with us that the student emergency forms will need to be updated through the Home Access Center. Paper copies will not be coming home to families to be updated. There have been some issues with the updates on the HAC and she explained that families will need to open the emergency form, save the information, edit the new information and then save it again.

Our next Nash Home and School meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
