April minutes approved

Review of Dates:

Literacy night - Authors will present 7-8; Can preorder books to be signed by the author; writing hung in main hallway and café; artwork will be presented in the pod for each student in the school.
Wax museum - 6th grade does presentations, June 5
Spirit day for June- date is likely to be changed or a different spirit day
May 14th- 9:30 and 7pm is the 6th play - costumes need to be sent in by Monday

Pennfield wind ensemble - will be here Tuesday 13 at 1:15

Approval of new board - Karen Lindsay, President

Jenny Platt, Vice President

Approval of by-laws

Treasurer Report - $500 from Merck, $1000 profit Box Tops - exceeded budgeted amount

$21,000 estimated fundraising, $16,000 spent ($25,000). Treasurer meeting with coordinating council clarified that silent auction is not a game of chance rather than an exchange, raffles are game of chance, licenses must be gotten accordingly

Business:

A. Future Fundraising Idea: Auction - Art teacher worked with each grade to create a project or teacher offering time.
B. Discussed moving "a-thon" (major fundraiser) to the spring in order to better about budget money and improve fundraising efforts throughout the year.
C. Clothing Drive: 19-30th, cart in front of school before; by door 4 by afterschool care, concern about having a bin that is open to public- options to be discussed
D. Mural Update: Approved to move forward, artist will continue working; Should begin in the Fall
E. Advertising in directory: There are current coordinators for the assembly of the directory but there is a need for a team to work on procuring advertising and finding businesses

F. Engineering for kids: Two programs, K-2 and 3-6; engineering asking for additional space; Mrs. Crits is the contact; talking about going through home and school next year; email hold the spots; pod area may be open; next year multiple programs may be offered.

Principal's Report
A. Election day - plan to district and election board, workers will be using faculty room for Election staff to be "raptored" ahead of time, extra person to help, facilities person will come early, North Penn security will be clustered Inglewood, Walton Farm and Nash; door two will be used, voting in the gym, children will be rerouted, children will continue to use front doors, high time voting 7-8; 5-8 hours. Trip parking for field trip, back field used for recess, try to not use street parking, can not have police with weapons at a voting place. Letter to go out with specifics about voting traffic.

B. Evacuation drill May 15th - have to evacuate to outside, go to one site, move to other site, separate into bus lines and then back into classrooms; if volunteers are present they are to go to the nearest staff member not find their own children. On Tuesday the staff will meet to discuss how to inform the students. Might be helpful to inform parents of how different drills are handled will also inform volunteer.

Open Forum:

A. Open Coordinator Positions: Spring Zing, holiday shop, newsletter, mom and dad events, welcome picnic
B. Filled positions = book fair, shadows for the Spanish Club, RIF, Aide Coordinator
C. Holiday Shop and Halloween are allowed during school at principal's discretion

D. Lunch - Problems with account; possibly have Pam Gallagher out for a meeting
