Notes about Upcoming Dates:
The IronKnights Triathlon has over 1,300 students registered; 71 are from Nash which
is our largest number of Nash students participating
The Moving On Celebration on June 10 is open to parents. It is not a graduation
ceremony, but a celebration of our Nash community.
There is a fundraising event at YoFresh on the last day of school (June 10) from
3:00-9:30. You do not need a flyer for this event.
Principal's Report - Mr. Winkle
Mr. Winkle reported on the number of classes in each grade for the school year
2016-17. There will be 3 kindergarten classes (2 morning and 1 afternoon), 3 first grade
classes, 3 second grade classes, 2 third grade classes, 3 fourth grade classes, 2 fifth
grade classes and 3 sixth grade classes. Departmentalization of the major subjects will
continue next year in grades 4-6th. The district will be implementing co-teaching with
the learning support and gifted support as well. Several parents asked questions about
the math program. It was suggested that Nash hosts a mathematics informational
evening for parents in the fall next school year.
He also talked about the idea of having an end of the year event with a DJ possibly on
June 2. Money from the assembly budget will be used to cover the cost of this event.
Teacher Representative - Ms. Catto
Ms. Catto shared with the group that the Nash staff wanted to thank the H & S for the
monthly treats they have been providing. She also wanted to send a thank you from the
reading teachers for a successful Literacy Night.
Treasurer's Report - Sue Zima
This has been a fantastic fundraising year and we were able to hold many social events
for the Nash community.

Home and School By-laws were approved
$400 was approved for end-of-year event/assembly
Previous Business
The Clothing Drive that was held in conjunction with the 6th grade car wash was very
successful! Thank you to Colleen Peterson for organizing the event!
Coordinator Reports
Donna Hegge spoke about the Nature Nook. The group will be providing more
opportunities for the Nash students to help maintain the gardens.
Open Forum Q & A
Nicole Pritchett shared the idea of SPIRIT assemblies that are held at Hatfield
Elementary.
Mr. Winkle shared his idea of having Nash host a 5K (similar to some of the other NP
schools) as a fundraiser for the future.
