General Francis Nash
(1742 - October 7, 1777) served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was the Brigadier General in charge of the North Carolina Brigade.

General Nash marched his troops from Charleston, North Carolina to assist General George Washington in the Battle of Germantown. During the battle, General Nash was wounded and taken to what is now Towamencin Township. Unable to recover from those wounds, General Nash died and was buried at the Towamencin Mennonite Meetinghouse Cemetery.

General Nash Elementary School celebrates the bravery and commitment of General Francis Nash to his country and to his belief in freedom.
